1 : Take a white turkey tail. |

I always choose young feathers which did not finish their growth. These feathers have the advantage do not being too much damaged and have ideal very fine fibres to tie the wings. The red part contains fibres not left. The useful fibres are on the green part. |

Cut the useless part. |

Remove useless fibres and bad qualities. |

Leave an end of rachis for a better handling. |

Your feather is ready for a passage at the steam. |

7 : I use a kettle provided with a small slit in order to obtain a rather powerful steam jet |

Pass your feather to the top of the steam jet (5cm approximately) |

Sometimes, smooth fibres with your fingers and remade several passages to the top of the steam. |
