The topping

In this stage we will see how to place the cheeks of the fly. Then a more challenging part: the placement of the beautiful topping. The topping is the golden pheasant feather which caps the fly. But before we do that, let's place the cheeks on each side which will be made from small parrot feathers.)
 
ETAPE 1 : Select 2 symmetrical feathers of parrot or another bird.
 
ETAPE 2 :Attach the feathers to each side to form the cheeks
 
ETAPE 3 : Carefully check to be sure the feathers are the same length
 
ETAPE 4 : Then place 2 smaller feathers, and finish with a third pair, this time using kingfisher.
 
ETAPE 5 : We will now finish the fly with a topping
 
ETAPE 6 : A close-up of the head.
 
 
ETAPE 7 : Select a golden pheasant crest feather. How to prepare these feathers will be described a little later in the following steps and video
 
ETAPE 8 : Place your feather on the fly.
 
ETAPE 9 : With tweezers, grasp the feather at exactly the place you will attach it
  
 
ETAPE 10 : Strongly grip with the tweezers.
  
 
ETAPE 11 : Place the feather like this.

ETAPE 12 : With your finger push the feather against the tweezers.
 
ETAPE 13 : You obtain a break.
 
ETAPE 14 : Clean the base of the feather.
 
ETAPE 15 : Place the feather on the fly.
 
ETAPE 16 : Attach the feather. This is a delicate operation which often requires some time so that you are sure it is in contact with the wing.
 
ETAPE 17 : Bind down to form the head. In many cases the accumulation of materials makes it impossible to bind the entire head.
  
 
ETAPE 18 : Lock your tying thread with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue
  ETAPE 19 : Cut your thread. The head will remain unfinished.
  ETAPE 20 : The fly is almost finished
